Just Saying Hello With A Couple Of New Videos
A second "Film Thought" and a new adaptation of "Rio Bravo Diary"
Dear Readers,
Greetings! The usual newsletter will be sent to your inbox this coming Sunday, but I figured I would just say happy Monday and share two videos I recently made.
A friendly reminder that Patreon subscribers now have access to a new post: “The Supercut: A Videographic Introduction.”
First, a new adaptation of “Rio Bravo Diary.” This video centers on hands in Rio Bravo, and specifically times I used the word “hand” or “hands” while writing in the diary. The examples were curated by searching "@RioBravoDiary ‘hands’ OR ‘hands’” on Twitter. Believe it or not, my year-long journey of watching Rio Bravo ends on November 1st. You can follow along here.
The video below features clips from the following tweets: Days 2, 11, 15, 45, 53, 55, 57, 60, 69, 76. 78, 80, 83, 108, 119, 120, 123, 128, 148, 151, 176, 195, 221, 242, 243, 250, 283, 284, and 321.
Watch past adaptations: “Domestic Spaces” and “Tenderness”
Up next, the second video in my “Film Thoughts” series. This video centers on a thought I had while watching William Friedkin’s 1971 classic, The French Connection for the first time.
And here is the first installment, on a thought I had while watching Henry Hathaway’s Five Card Stud (1968).
Have a great week!
Cheers,
Will
